One person's junk is another person's treasure...

This weekend as we are trying to prepare for River's arrival we decided to do some major cleaning and cleaning out at Callie's house.  We managed to get his room cleaned out and started to prepare it so it can be painted this week while we are in Charleston.  Callie decided on a light blue (rain) color for his room and it is going to look great! I meant to take a before picture of his room but didn't get a chance to before we left tonight.  I will definitely take a picture of it when we get back so you can see what it looks like painted.

While we were in cleaning mode we decided to tackle the attic and OH what a job it was.  We were up there all afternoon and cleaned out so much junk!  I really think that Callie used to have a problem with buying bed linens because there were seriously 3 big rubber tubs FULL of them.  Needless to say we now have a whole truck load of stuff that needs to go to consignment. The pictures don't really do it justice but I will post them so you can see for your self.  Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

I pity the person that has to carry all of this stuff down the stairs!

Look at this beauty we found!

And since its never to late for a belly pic.  Technically Callie will be 26 weeks tomorrow but we have been so busy that we didn't have a chance to take a 25 week belly pic until tonight so here you go...

Trip to Costco...

Somehow during the craziness of last week, Mom Callie and I decided we would go to Costco.  Mind you, the only thing that we were going for was fresh flowers for Mom to use in some flower arrangements that she had to do.  I have never been to a Costco/Sam's with both of them and it was quite an experience.  I should have known when I heard the story abot them them going to Sam's and not being able to fit everything into Mom's car (ironing board included) that I was in major trouble!

Well we get into Costco and don't even make it down 4 full aisles before we need another shopping cart.  It was a very funny site to see all three of us stopping to look at stuff and continuing to pile stuff into both carts until we could barely see where we were going.  We were getting some pretty funny looks.  The funny thing is, the last thing that we picked up to get was the only thing we were supposed to be going there for, FLOWERS! All the while as we were shopping and continuing to pile stuff in, none of us even thought about where all of it was going to go once we got in the car! We were in Mom's car which is 4 door but it is pretty big and also has a lot of trunk space so we just figured we would be ok.  Well here is the end result!

This is the view from the front seat...I'm back there somewhere!

Before I got in the car....the trunk is also full!

I'm Back!

Sorry for the brief hiatus from blogging! It has been a very busy week!  Last Wednesday the world lost a wonderful woman, my grandmother Mama Jean.  She was a wonderful lady and I will never forget her or anything that she taught me.  I know that she is very happy where she is now. Although it was great to see some of my family that I do not get to see very often, even though it was under these circumstances.

On a much happier note, I have been very busy trying to prepare for the Holidays!  I finished wrapping all of my Christmas presents last week and now I am just trying to help Mom wrap all of hers.  Callie and I spent all day in the kitchen yesterday making homemade candy to give away as gifts.  It was very fun and a it was great to spend time with her.  We made peanut and pecan brittle, chocolate brickle, peanut butter balls, salty dogs, pralines (kind of), and white chocolate covered peanut butter crackers and pretzels.  Something happened with our pralines but that was our only failure of the day so I think we did pretty good.  I'm so ready for Christmas to be here.

Last week, Ava, Neely and I made gingerbread cookies for Ava's class party.  It was great and it was also very fun to watch them too.  Here are a few pictures!

And for those of you who are interested.  Here is a glimpse of Callie's belly at 24 Weeks!

Weekend in Atlanta!

Our weeked in Atlanta was great!  We shopped, ate, and talked until we were about dead!  But oh my, I had the absolute BEST cupcake that I have ever had in my entire life! Seriously, it was sooo good I think I could have eaten at least 3 more while we were there! We did end up bringing a few home with us ;) We got them at a place called Camicakes.  I had the ClassicCami but I also got to try lemon drop and white chocolate kiss and they were all heavenly!  If you are ever in the Buckhead area I highly recommend stopping by and trying one for yourself.

Shopping wise we had a blast and also found a lot of stuff for Baby River.  I think I have a new love and that would be IKEA! This weekend was the first time that I have been and it was amazing.  They have so much stuff and there prices are very reasonable.  We found some great stuff for River there and I am sure we will be going back for more before he is born.  We also found him a few cute kimono style onesies and some pants to match at H&M. But the steal of the weekend was a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag.  It was originally $170 and we got it for $65!  I couldn't find a picture of it online but I will post one sometime.

I don't have any pictures from this weekend but I will leave you with Callie's 23 Week Belly Pic! Until next time...

WOW!

Wow I can't believe my eyes, Mckmama is doing a giveaway for a brand new HP Touchsmart 600 computer.  From the looks and sounds of it, it seems to be pretty cool!  I would love to have one for myself! Sorry I just had to share this with you.  If you are interested, head on over to her blog and see how you can enter!

Christmas Spirit

I've been trying for a while to get into the Christmas spirit this year but it just hasn't seemed to be working! I think that I have just been a little busy for the past couple of weeks so that might be the problem.  So yesterday on my way home from work I decided to go and buy a few decorations to put up at the apartment tonight so it wouldn't look so bare.  I just got a few things and its looking and feeling a lot more like Christmas now.  Tonight after dinner we are going to watch Elf and I think I am going to wrap some presents too! Wrapping presents is definitely one of my favorite parts of Christmas, besides decorating the tree.  I helped Callie decorate for Christmas while I stayed with her last week! Needless to say it took us about a week to get everything put up but we eventually got it finished!

Callie and I are going to Atlanta this week to do a little shopping, some for Christmas but mostly for baby River!   I will be sure to post when we get back to let you know what all we found for him!  The bedding for his nursery arrived this week and now she can start getting everything together for his room.  We have a lot to clean out before that happens though!  I'll leave you with a couple of pictures from the past few weeks!

Callie and Jackson by the Christmas tree!

Precious Max in bed one night! I sure did miss him last night!

Miss Ava, I think she is destined to be a model!

Seriously, how cute is Neely!
