Fun With Friends!

One night last week I went to dinner with a bunch of friends for a birthday!  We had a really fun time just talking and hanging out!  It didn't even phase us that we had to wait nearly an hour to be seated!  Granted we were all starving when we did sit down to eat! It was a much needed night out for us all!  I wish we could all get together at least once a month to do this! Little Miss Mara made an appearance as well.  She is precious and so good, she slept nearly the whole time we were there!

Not me Monday

I definitely did not fall down the steps yesterday and hit every single step on the way down... I would never do such a clumsy thing!

I didn't just cry like a little baby when I was finishing The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks...Not me!

And lastly I didn't get embarassed for crying about a book when asked by 6 year old Ava why I was crying, nope Not ME!!

Head on over to Mckmama's blog to see what everyone else is has to say this week!

River Update

Just a quick little update on Callie and River. Nothing really new is going on, he is still just hanging out and growing!  Callie is 37 weeks now so it is basically just a waiting game now.  She is still nesting like a mad woman though! We had to return a few things to Babies R Us this morning and I coudn't resist these little Converse that I bought him.  They are soooo precious!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

So keeping with the St. Patrick's Day theme I decided to post some goodies I made for the holiday! I made rainbow cupcakes for Ava's class.  They were really fun and I loved the way the turned out but they are very time consuming!  I also made some cake balls to give to a few people.  I got the idea from Bakerella. I love the white and kelly green color combination.  My favorite part is something that you can't see in the pictures.  The cake on the inside is "green velvet", it is red velvet cake but instead of using red food coloring, I used green.  The cake is very yummy!

I also tried royal icing for the first time this morning.  I baked shamrock shaped cookies and had everything all perfect.  When it came time to ice the cookies it didn't turn out quite like I had hoped.  They weren't that bad but definitely were not blog worthy!  Hope everyone enjoys St. Patrick's Day!

I ♥ Dunkin Donuts!

Seriously I think I have an addiction to this place! Most people like to go here for these yummy sweet treats...
But me, I prefer to go there for their delicious coffee.  It is seriously the best coffee that I have ever tasted  and I am not exaggerating, or at least it is in my opinion!  And something that makes it even better is that every Monday in March you can get a medium coffee for FREE!  That's right, I said FREE!  Who wouldn't want delicious coffee for free.  I have gone the past 2 Mondays and definitely plan on going until they stop doing this!  But don't be fooled, I go there even when the coffee isn't free just because I ♥ Dunkin Donuts!  So Dunkin Donuts, you can keep your donuts (b/c I prefer Krispy Kreme anyway) but I will definitely take all of this I can get...

4 Weeks!?!?!?

I cannot believe that River is due in less than 4 weeks.  I absolutely can't wait to meet him and I know Callie and Jeremy feel the same way! Callie has really been in nesting mode for the last month or so (hence the reason we have been to Ikea not once but twice in the last week!)  River's nursery is completely finished and everything else in the house is ready for baby!  I still can't believe that he will be here very very soon...So excited!!!!!

Can you tell by the pictures that I have posted recently that I have been playing around with Photoshop?  I am slowly but surely learning my way through it!

Wish List Wednesday

Sorry about the long break from blogging lately! Just haven't had much time or anything to really blog about!  This week I decided to do Wish List Wednesday focused on things I want for my future house.  We went to Ikea this weekend to get a few things for Callie's house so that is how this idea came about.  I absolutely love everything at Ikea!

I absolutely love these red cabinets!

This is my absolute dream closet! Maybe one day!!

Keeping with the red theme!  And I love how organized it is!

That's all of my wishes for the week.  Head on over to The Foster Family to see what everyone else is wishing for this week!

Story Time

Neely had a blast yesterday celebrating Dr. Suess birthday at Barnes and Noble.  It was actually really fun for the kids.  They read a couple of books and got to "travel" to different places in the store as part of the program.  They also had some fun activities for them to enjoy in between stories like coloring and eating cookies, which of course they all loved.  Barnes and Noble has story time every Tuesday so I think we might start doing that every week.  It gives Neely something to do and it also allows us to get out of the house! And yes I was one of those crazy people taking pictures yesterday during story time ;)

Dr. Suess

Since today is Dr. Suess' birthday, I figured I would do a little post about that!  I have always loved Dr. Suess and still do.  If it is my choice to pick a book that I read to the girls, I always pick one of his.  I also ordered River some to start his collection!

You may wonder why I know that today is his birthday and I know this lovely piece of information b/c of living with an elementary school teacher who celebrates this every year with her class (thanks Ashleigh).  I always love when she does this because I love to see the fun activities she has planned for her class.  Well, this year she asked me to make cupcakes for her class for his birthday!  I was so excited that she asked me to do this and searched all over the internet to find a cute idea.  This is what I came up with!

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!  Neely and I are off to celebrate his birthday at Barnes and Noble!
